Contraindications & Things to Know:
While Red Light Therapy is safe and non-invasive for most people, there are a few important considerations to keep in mind:
• Pregnancy: While there’s no conclusive evidence of harm, we recommend avoiding red light therapy during pregnancy out of an abundance of caution.
• Photosensitivity: If you're taking medications or using topicals that cause sensitivity to light (such as certain antibiotics, retinoids, or chemotherapy drugs), please consult your physician before booking.
• Active Carcinoma or Tumors: Red light therapy is not advised for individuals with known or suspected cancer, unless cleared by a physician.
• Severe Skin Conditions: Open wounds, active infections, or recent skin treatments (like chemical peels or laser resurfacing) may require a delay in treatment.
• Implanted Devices: Some medical implants—especially those that respond to light or heat—may not be compatible. Always disclose these during your intake.
• Eye Sensitivity: Protective eyewear is available and recommended, especially during facial sessions, to avoid prolonged exposure.
